Aloha Tips When Traveling With Kids

#1

Schedule all photography sessions for the morning when your kids are fresh. You can most likely avoid a melt down. Don’t forget to bring snacks. Photographer Sean Michael Hower is great!

#2

Everywhere on Maui is kid friendly. It is very common to see young kids in fine dining restaurants. Don’t forget to grab your little ones some famous Hula Pie (Icecream Cake)!.

#3

Do a family Luau. This was a highlight for my 2 year old. Most luau’s get the entire family involved and have kid activities. The fire dancers always impress the little ones. They also have kid friendly food options for no extra charge.

#4

Schedule lots of pool and beach time. This is where some of our favorite memories are created. Don’t forget the sunscreen!

#5

Consider using a local rental company to deliver items to your room for things such as high-chairs/ pack-n-plays. The less things you have to pack with you, the better! If you are staying at a hotel, they will most likely have pack-n-plays for you at no charge. Check out Maui Baby Rentals

#6

Head to the local grocery store for beach toys. These won’t cost more than $5.

#7

When booking lodging check to see if the resort offers kids’ clubs or kids activities. Several hotels have kids’ club actives that allow you to sneak away for some adult time.

#8

Bring the stroller everywhere. You never know when you want to explore longer and that little one needs to rest. (A light weight stroller with a canopy is best).

#9

With several kids consider ground floor lodging. You can then relax on the lanai with coffee or a cocktail while the kids run around.

#10

Don’t stress about the melt downs. Take advantage of the photo op and enjoy the Aloha Spirit!
